MAS Artists
Our next demonstration is on Thursday, August 5 with Stobart Foundation Fellowship artist, draftsman and painter, Jack Montmeat. Jack teaches at the Lyme Art Association and the Mystic Art Center. He will be doing a portrait drawing for us (check out his wonderful drawing that is attached).. Ellen Fabian, our BOD member and good friend, fell and broke her hip last weekend. She is at Yale Hospital and she is in our thoughts and prayers. Welcome to Diane Aeschilman a new art member to join MAS. MAS has a new opportunity to exhibit our art at Hammonasset Nature Center at Meig's Point on Saturday, August 21 from 10 to 5 pm (no rain date - could go inside the Nature Center to sell art). It is the 90th Anniversary of Hammonasset Park so they are planning lots of activities for the campers to celebrate at the Nature Center. They are getting a large tent for the first group of artists that sign up. You will need your own display racks and you will have to be with your art all day. Although there is no sign up fee, a small donation to the Nature Center would be appreciated if there is a sale. Let me know ASAP if you are interested since I have to get back to the rangers ASAP. We need more artists to show their work ( three artists just dropped out).
As they say, “Love Your Local - Artists” so come out and support our artists at our outdoor exhibitions. We have been busy painting outdoors on Wednesdays at lovely locations. Thanks again to Jay Babina for coordinating our Plein air outings this year.
I hope to see all of you soon. Beverly Schirmeier Demonstrations

His works are lushly painted with a sense of intimacy. He is an award winning artist that lives in New London and teaches at the Lyme Art Association and the Mystic Art Center. He earned a BFA in 2002 from Columbus College of Art and Design. Jack also studied at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, the American University of Paris and the Studio Art Center’s International in Florence, Italy.
