The Madison Art Society presents the work of Clinton artist Joanne McCarty and Madison artist Dianne Coyle. The artwork of these award winning artists will be on exhibit at the Madison Town Hall, 8 Campus Drive, Madison, CT beginning November 3, 2014 and continuing until the end of the year. The show is open to the public and can be viewed during normal business hours.
A watercolorist and pastelist, Joanne McCarty has received many awards locally and statewide. She paints and exhibits both along the shoreline and in the Caribbean. She is a member of the Clinton Art Society, the Guilford Art League, Essex Art Association, Madison Art Society and Lyme Art Association. Her work is in collections throughout the world
Dianne began painting 12 years ago when her husband insisted she could paint, but she wasn't so sure. Over the years she has done landscape and still life paintings, but more recently has exhibited great talent in portraits. Her 20 portrait series of the people of Haiti was exhibited at the Clare Gallery, Hartford, in 2013 and will be exhibited in March 2015 at Hospice in Branford. A large number of her works are in a private collection in Colorado. Most recently her works have been seen in juried art shows in the area and in 2013 she won an award for her first painting in the Faces of Haiti series. She is a member of the Guilford Art League and the Madison Art Society.
