Ogunquit Celebration , Watercolor, by Elizabeth Haigis, Blooms on Shoreline at the Madison Art Society 38th Annual Member Art Exhibition
The Madison Art Society, MAS, is celebrating their 38th Annual Member Art Exhibition during the month of February at the Scranton Memorial Library in Madison Ct. There are 113 works of art on public display. Elizabeth Haigis's,watercolor painting, Ogunquit Celebration, captures the summer light on the patriotic banners and flowers in full bloom which something we all need right now . On Febrauary 10, 2013, the MAS held a Critique of the member's art work by nationally known artist, Lou Bonamarte. Lou had chosen the artwork that he felt should win the Juror's Award. He described why he selected the watercolor to win the Juror's Award. In addition, Elizabeth's painting not only received the Juror's Award, but it also was also selected by her artist peers to win the Popular Award. Annually, Lenny and Joe's Restaurant in Madison donates the prize money for the award. The exhibition is open to the public for the remainder of February. It is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. .
