2011 MAS Members Show

 Madison artist, Elizabeth Boyd, Fruit, acrylic & pastel

The Madison Art Society will hold its 36th Annual Member Exhibition and Sale at the EC Scranton Memorial Library January 30, 2011through February 25, 2011. The library is open to the public and it is located at 801 Boston Post Road, Madison Ct 203- 245-7365. The exhibit will feature works of oil, pastel, water color mediums and sculpture. Over 100 pieces of art work will be on exhibit and available for purchase. As always, the artists donate a portion of the sale proceedings to the the library. The show will be open during regular library hours.


This year, the exhibit will recognize Madison artist, Elizabeth Boyd, whose painting of a ballerina was chosen as the "most popular" at last year's show. Her new painting in acrylic and pastel, the Fruit, will be displayed this year.

A reception will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and it is open to members and guests in the library's community room. The Madison Art Society will be making a donation to the library at the reception to honor and extend their gratitude to the library for housing the art society's art shows over the years. On Sunday, February 6 at 1:30 p.m., Frank Federicio, a master pastelist, will conduct a critique of the art work. The Madison Art Society has more than 200 members. It conducts lectures, painting demonstrations and member painting sessions on a year-round basis.
