Madison artist, Elizabeth Boyd, Fruit, acrylic & pastel
This year, the exhibit will recognize Madison artist, Elizabeth Boyd, whose painting of a ballerina was chosen as the "most popular" at last year's show. Her new painting in acrylic and pastel, the Fruit, will be displayed this year.
A reception will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and it is open to members and guests in the library's community room. The Madison Art Society will be making a donation to the library at the reception to honor and extend their gratitude to the library for housing the art society's art shows over the years. On Sunday, February 6 at 1:30 p.m., Frank Federicio, a master pastelist, will conduct a critique of the art work. The Madison Art Society has more than 200 members. It conducts lectures, painting demonstrations and member painting sessions on a year-round basis. For information regarding the exhibition and the Madison Art Society, the public is invited to call Beverly Schirmeier, President at 860-399-6116.
