Town Hall Exhibit May/June Don Trownsell & Janet Rood

Madison Art Society, Artists for the Months of May and June, Madison Town Hall, 8 Campus Drive, Madison.  Madison artists, Don Trownsell and Janet Rood will paintings will be featured at the town hall.  The exhibit is open to the public free of charge during normal town hall hours.  More information, call 860-663-3789. Don Trownsell primarily works in oils, however he is also a trained watercolorist.  He began painting watercolors with noted award winning artists such as Lou Bonamarte, Elwood Bengut of New Jersey, and Terry Oakes Bourett.  While in Hilton Head, Don studied with Stark, formerly the head of the Hilton Head Academy of Art and he is now teaching in Denver, Colorado. Don’s paintings have been exhibited in many art society juried shows.  He is a member of the Clinton Art Society, Guilford Art League and he is the Vice President of the Madison Art Society.   Janet Rood has studied studied fashion design, art history, and general arts at the Epsom and Yule School of Arts, now the University of Kingston, in England.  Janet then worked in London and Paris as a fashion artist and designer for several couture houses.  After arriving in America, Janet embarked on a career of fashion design, creating bridal dresses and wedding wear, as well as clothing for all occasions. In addition to having her own business, Janet joined the Tuesday Morning Artists in the 1980’s, where Sally Spiegel became a major influence on her work.  Janet also continues to take courses with John Massimino and travels to the Provence region of France to hone her drawing and painting skills.  She enjoys creating art while visiting family in England and France, as well as here in the States.  Janet’s greatest pleasure is drawing and painting wherever she goes.
