MAS Members Showing Around the State and Around the World

MAS Members Jan Blencowe, Barbara Rossitto, Maggie Dean and Joan McPherson have all had paintings juried into the Connecticut Plein Air Painters show at the Silo Gallery, Hunt Hill Farm, New Milford. The show was judged by Gregory James Mullen owner of the Gregory James Gallery. Opening reception is Saturday, Aug. 3oth, 3-5pm. The show runs through Oct. 19th. Silo Gallery is located at 44 Upland Rd., New Milford, CT


Jan Blencowe has been asked by the United States Department of State to participate in their Art in Embassies Program. Two of her landscapes, Luminary of the Autumn Night Sky, and Evening Falls have been sent to the US Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to coincide with the installation of the new US Ambassador Hugo Llorens. Her paintings along with other works by US artists will hang in the embassy until the end of Llorens term in 2012. "The Art in Embassies exhibits... play an important role in our nation's public diplomacy.... and provide an important diplomatic tool for our ambassadors" ~ US Department of State Art in Embassies Mission Statement


Jan also received the Jane Stannard Granniss Memorial Prize in the Clinton Art Society show in July, and had a painting juried into the Lyme Art Association's Summer Painting and Sculpture exhibit, juried by David Leffel and Sherrie McGraw.


MAS member Pat Seekamp was also juried into the Lyme Summer Painting and Sculpture Show.



Barbara Rossitto, had a painting accepted into the North East Watercolor Society show at The Gallery at the Kent Art Association, Main Street(RT 7), Kent, CT.
Opening reception October 26 from 2-4, The show closes on Nov 9.

She is exhibiting at Essex Art Association "Peace - If I could change the world" exhibit which opens Friday Aug 29.


Barbara received an award for "Sunny Day at the Norwich Marina" from the Essex Art Association "Hot is Cool" show (show is over, August 2008).

She is also having a one woman show at Jerram Winery, 535 Town Hill Rd., New Hartford, CT. The show is thru labor day.

Killingworth Town Hall Artists Exhibit Opens September 2nd

Come support Killingworth painters and sculptors by dropping by the Town Hall to view artwork on display.
This exhibit honors the memory of artist Jay Folger, who tirelessly worked to promote the artists of Killingworth and the Shoreline. Join us at the Killingworth Town Hall for the opening reception on Tuesday, September 2nd from 7-9pm, including baked goods and coffee.
This exhibition is FREE to the public and will be open the month of September, Monday through Friday, from 9am-4pm.
Featured artists include Diane Afton Aeschliman, Nancy Armstrong, Sue Davenport, Bill Hosking, Ron Imbriglio, Joan Levy, Laura Ludington, Gloria Nilsson, Cora Ogden, Carole Pleines, Maryanne Rupp, Paula Solimene, Sandy Smith and Harold Wright.
