Nineteen Board of Director members from the Madison Art Society will be displaying their paintings and sculpture throughout the month of September at the Scranton Memorial Library in Madison throughout the month of September . The library is located at 801 Boston Post Road.
Viewing the artwork of these award winning artists will be open to the public free of charge during normal library hours and artwork can be purchased directly from the artists. The artists will be donating a portion of the sales to the library. An open house reception will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. The public is invited.
A wonderful selection of local landscape scenes and still lifes worked in watercolor, pastel, sculpture, acrylic and oil painting will be showcased for the public to view throughout September. The artists that will be participating are Jay Babina, Patricia Barone, Denise Casey, Nancy Chapman, Penny Chittenden, John Copelin, Ellen Fabian, Dick Kennedy, Suart Lerner , Joan Mc Pherson, , Seymour Page, Maryanne Rupp, Beverly Schirmeier, Maude Schmidt, Patrica Seakamp, Paula Solimene- Emery, Don Townsell, John Tubb , and Beth Wardwell.
The Madison Art Society is dedicated to the promotion of the arts throughtout the Connecticut shoreline. MAS sponsors an annual members show, a juried show and numerous other exhibiting opportunities for artists. We bring to the community a lecture/demo series featuring well known artists as well as studio,portrait and plein air painting groups throughout the year. Receiving Day
Receiving day was busy indeed with MAS taking in 224 entries. Eighty-eight were selected to hang in the show. Winners will be posted soon! Looking forward to seeing everyone at the opening on Friday evening 5-7pm at the Scranton Library.
