The demo is free and open to the public.
Gloria’s expressive process for painting on silk will be demonstrated using the SERTI (French for "fence" or "enclosing ") method, the traditional French approach to controlling the flow of water-based dye on silk. Gloria further elaborates form, shape, depth and movement by exercising the unconventional freehand use of pigmented gutta (resist). An accomplished artist and designer, Gloria also offers classes, workshops and weekly programs at the Arts Center in Killingworth, Chester Village West, Essex Meadows, Clinton Parks and Recreation, Durham Parks and Recreation and The Saybrook at Haddam.
The Madison Art Society is dedicated to the promotion of the arts throughtout the Connecticut shoreline. MAS sponsors an annual members show, a juried show and numerous other exhibiting opportunities for artists.
