Oil Painting Demonstration by Zufar Bikbov

The Madison Art Society will present an oil painting demonstration by well known plein air painter Zufar Bikbov.  The focus of the demonstration will be on how to establish a quick drawing in oil with some elements of townscape.  The demo will take place at the Scranton Memorial Library, 801 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT on Thursday May 14, 2015 at 6 p.m.  The event is held in conjunction with the Madison Art Society's 40th Annual Juried show, currently on exhibit in the community room of the library.

Zufar Bikbov was born and and classically trained in art and medicine in Russia prior to coming the the United States in 2004.  After studying classic realism, his current focus is plein air work and occasional landscape abstraction.  Plein air work is done outside, on location.  His main purpose in creating art is to share the beauty that surrounds us.  Bikbov's painting "Afternoon in Hoorn" is on display as part of the juried exhibit at the library.  He served as the juror, selecting 88 works of art for the show. The exhibit is open during regular library hours until May 29, 2015
