Madison Town Hall artists for September and October

The Madison Art Society presents the artwork of Durham artist Gail Reen and Clinton artist Faye Mylen.  Their beautiful paintings will be on display throughout the months of September and October at the Madison Town Hall, 8 Campus Drive, Madison.  The exhibit is open to the public and can be viewed during regular business hours.

Gail Reen
Gail Reen paints en plein air in her hometown of Durham and along the Connecticut shoreline.  She also finds

inspiration in Belgrade, Maine and on her visits to Scotland and Switzerland.  Gail holds a B.S. and M.S. in art education from SCSU and has continued her studies in art with Joan Downey, Lou Bonamarte and R. W. Wells.

Faye Mylen
Faye Mylen is a landscape painter who loves to explore ways to bring abstract qualities to representational art, while capturing a taste of the mood and ambiance. She finds nature's raw beauty to be the best inspiration for her work.
Faye describes her entry into the world of art as one of great resistance, as she never wanted to be a painter. However, she found herself

becoming preoccupied with an internal pull to paint, which she chose to ignore. After this preoccupation became stronger and harder to ignore, she decided to grab a brush and put some paint on a canvas. Today she is so thankful that she did, as painting has become such an integral part of her life.
Faye paints mainly in oils prefers panels or aluminum for their smooth surface. She has studied painting, both abroad and locally. Most recently she has studied at Silvermine Arts Center as well as at Lyme Art Association. She is a member of the Clinton Art Association and Madison Art Association and has shown her work in juried art shows throughout Connecticut. She is currently represented by Maple and Main Gallery of Fine Art in Chester, Connecticut.
