Pastel Portrait Demonstration by Alain Picard

The Madison Art Society is proud to present a pastel portrait demonstration by Alain Picard on May 18, 2014  1:30 - 3:30 pm.  The demo will be held at The Scranton Memorial Library, 801 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT in conjunction with MAS' 39th Annual Juried Show.

Picard has garnered top awards in esteemed exhibitions, including Portrait Society of America, Hudson Valley Art Association and Pastel Society of America.  He won Best Portfolio Award at the 2009 Portrait Society of America conference in Washington DC and was recently invited to demonstrate a portrait in pastel at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Chosen as one of Artist's Magazine's 20 contemporary artists "On The Rise", Picard cites Sargent, Degas and Sorolla among his artistic influences.  The public is invited to attend.
