 Patricia Barone

As a child, Patricia Barone lived in San Francisco and Seattle, and later moved to New York City to seek her fortune and have ready access to all the art that city offers. During her ongoing journey, Patricia got married, had a son, moved to Connecticut, and started her teaching career.

Away from brownstones and skyscrapers, she discovered the natural world.  Living beside the salt marsh and tidal rivers with sky and ever changing light playing across the New England countryside—ponds and trees and farms----she fell in love with nature and the journey of the heart turned a corner.
Patricia has been fortunate to study painting under the direction of two great teachers: Terry Oaks Bourret and Noel Belton. She has also attended workshops at the Lyme Art Association and the Guilford Art Center. Those masters who have influenced her approach to painting are Constable, Turner, Manet, Degas, J.S. Sargent, Alfred Sisley, Cezanne and Willard Metcalf. However, her greatest appreciation is her painting companions and the inspiration along this intriguing path artists tread.
Patrica is an Associate Artist member of the Lyme Art Association, Essex Art Association, Madison Art Society where she is also a member of the Board of Directors, Clinton Art Society, Mystic Art Association and the Guilford Art League. She has exhibited her art work injuried and non-juried shows for each of these associations and shown her work as a member of the Odyssey Painters.
